Device are fast becoming one of the true 'must see' bands on the hotly-contested London scene. After releasing an album, Espionage, on a tiny New York label in 2004, the band won a huge amount of radio play both in the USA and in Europe including the support of big guns such as John Kennedy at XFM, London and Richard Bacon at Capital.
Comparisons to just about everyone from Morrissey to the Killers to Bowie evade the fact that Device have a vibe very much of their own invention. Sharp dressed, savvy and cool as fck, the band's legendary invite-only parties at Device HQ are the hottest ticket in town for those in the know. Fans of the band include the rich, the infamous, the very, very drunk and of course the always inspirational Vice Girls.
The band's next album, All The Villains, produced by Glenn Skinner over a period of five months in autumn 2007, (Quincy Jones, George Michael, Alabama 3) is scheduled for release in April 2008 through London boutique label Vashon Ferry. The single from the album Essex County Line is already available to buy on all digital platforms worldwide.
As with all good bands, the live thing is really where it’s at with Device, the band have played countless shows over the last year or so including gigs at the legendary Marquee Club in London, The Cavern in Liverpool, Festivals in Battersea Park and a pool party for a friend who makes guns for Eric Clapton.
Device last hit the road when they played a short promotional tour in the Czech Republic in suppport of All The Villains European launch. Further European dates are currently being scheduled. They plan to tour in the USA later in the year.
